One month bandiversary been and gone!

So my one month bandiversary came and went on the 10th. Cant believe its been a month. It feels like a week ago I was wishing I was everyone else who was done and dusted. And now here I am. And my band is starting to do what it was programmed to do, no thanks to the programmer mind you. My band now tells me that its time to stop eating - I no longer need the threat of medieval style pain somewhere down the track to make me stop eating. The response is becoming more immediate and lets face it, I'm like a dog, I must be punished within 60 seconds of committing the crime or I just dont get it and I AM a repeat offender. I have been applying some of the rules of band eating and lo and behold - they work! I no longer drink while I eat (a very hard thing for me to do) so I actually get full!!! Would you believe it! Half an hour later (amount of time I have to wait according to my doctor) I am running for the fridge and squealing for water like I used to carry on for a Cherry Ripe but sometimes its up to 2 hours before I realise I'm due for a drink. Thats been a big break through for me. Its protein protein protein and carbs are almost no existent - lets remember what a massive carb addict I am! We'll see how I go next week (big hormonal week for me - but lets face it every week's a hormonal roller coaster) but so far so good!

  1. HEY!

I am so glad you said that you have mastered the no drinking while eating thing... I HAVE TO drink with my eats... I am a big drinker (non-alcoholic - any liquid really!)

Anyway - I know this is something i will struggle with - and it makes me thirsty just thinking about it!

  3. Woohoo, Well done Shaggs, 1 month down, and new habbits are being formed. The whole not drinking whilst eating thing sucks, but you kind of get used to it. And the results are so worth it. Going for my ultrasound today.. Will post the outcome..
    Have a good day..

  4. Hey, looking good! Are you finding you can eat a lot more now? I am paranoid I'm stretching my stomach cos I can eat a fair bit (not massive portions, but way more than the 3/4 of a cup of food I was having on mushies)... But haven't had a PB or vomit yet, and only one stuck food episode where I didn't chew properly (it eventually passed after a minute or so).

I have my first fill on Thursday next week thank god. Although I have been enjoying "bandster hell" somewhat, I'll be glad to get back on track.

  5. Yes i sometimes enjoy "naughty land" cause i know this wont last long but really, I want to feel restriction cause its really hurting when I over do it. My stomach sends me very little messages and I have no idea i've done the wrong thing til its too late and the pain is around the port scar (prob stretched to its limit) I can eat alot in graze mode but in a sitting, its not very much about 1 full cup. I am now so paranoid about the band slipping or something going wrong - it seems so easy to do when I've read peoples stories. Good luck for your fill leah - hope it all goes well and you find the restriction you're looking for!
